About Us
NatureMakers formed in 2023 in response to growing interest in micro forests and demand from schools, communities and organisations wanting to bring nature positive solutions into every day spaces. Through the installation of micro forests on private and public land, organisations can inset biodiversity onto their own properties, providing a meaningful way to meet environmental goals and enabling staff and community to benefit from being part of a project that brings nature back into urban or built up spaces.
For businesses and micro forest sponsors, NatureMakers can provide environmental content for annual reporting on the value of increased biodiversity, ensuring transparent delivery of biodiversity targets for corporate environmental reporting.

Rewilding Our Urban Spaces
Australia is facing huge biodiversity loss. Green spaces are shrinking with new development, and our cities are heating up under the pressure of climate change. Urban expansion has replaced native vegetation with concrete and other hard surfaces, leaving little room for wildlife or natural cooling. Land clearing and deforestation cause a quarter of Australia’s greenhouse gas emissions and are the primary cause of species extinction worldwide. At the same time, many Australians are also now growing up disconnected from nature. Rewilding our urban areas through micro forests offers a powerful way to support climate resilience, biodiversity and our own wellbeing.

Micro forests offer a practical, scalable, nature-based solution. These dense, layered plantings of native vegetation can be established in schoolyards, office grounds, active reserves and even carparks and roadside verges. They bring back habitat for birds, insects, and small animals, improve air and water quality, and help cool the local environment. Just as importantly, they help reconnect people with nature, offering spaces to learn, reflect, and recharge.

By planting micro forests, we’re not just restoring biodiversity - we’re creating healthier, more resilient communities. It’s a small footprint with a big impact.
